Diarify Privacy Policy

Diarify keeps your diary on your phone. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Nothing you write is sent to us, because there is no “us” to send it to.

What Diarify stores, and where

Every entry — the date, the song, the artwork, the genre and any note you write — is saved in a database inside the app’s private storage on your device. It is never uploaded. It is not backed up to any service we control, and we cannot read it.

Because of that, uninstalling Diarify deletes your diary. The app’s Settings screen can export everything to a JSON file that you choose where to keep.

What leaves your device

Diarify makes only these network requests, and none of them carry your diary:

When What is sent, and to whom
You search for a song The words you type go to Apple’s iTunes Search API so it can return matching songs. Your diary is not included.
Artwork is displayed Cover images are fetched from Apple’s servers, which receive the request as any website would.
You tap a play button Diarify hands the song’s name to the app or website you chose — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and so on. From that point you are using their service, under their privacy policy, not ours. Diarify has no account with any of them.

Reminders

The optional daily reminder is a local notification, scheduled by your phone and delivered by your phone. There is no push server and no push token. Turning it off cancels everything Diarify has scheduled.

Exporting and importing

Exporting writes a plain, readable JSON file and hands it to your device’s share sheet. Where it goes next — cloud drive, email, local storage — is entirely your choice, and anything stored there is governed by that service, not by Diarify. Importing reads a file you pick and merges it into your diary.

What Diarify does not do

Children

Diarify is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Your rights over your data

Your data never leaves your control, so there is nothing for us to delete on request. To remove everything, uninstall the app or clear its storage from your device’s app settings. To keep a copy, use the export in Settings.

Changes to this policy

If Diarify’s data handling changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. This policy is kept in the app’s source repository, so its history is public.
